TAC de abdomen y pelvis. Dilatación de asas de intestino delgado especialmente en flanco derecho. La flecha identifica una imagen de “remolino” en mesenterio ileal, sugerente de volvulación. El colon está colapsado. 

Foto intraoperatoria. Se visualiza la torsión del íleon y la gran dilatación de las asas de intestino delgado. 

Corte histológico. Las fibras musculares presentan necrosis focal, de color intensamente eosinófilo, edema intercelular y parcial vacuolización citoplasmática.
